New Zealand Tourism

The brief was to create a single page web application that was designed and developed for tablet and desktop. It gives feedback to the user about appropriate travel costs depending on the travel route, the number of people, the days of hire and vehicle option. The application shows fuel cost, hire cost, total distance and approximate travel time to the user. This project was created during my time at Yoobee School of Design.

Objectives

  • Create a single page web application that allows users to plan a holiday in New Zealand
  • Promote New Zealand internationally
  • Easy access to different transport options
  • Display travel information to overseas visitors

Key responsibilities

  • Create wireframes and high fidelity mockups
  • Use the Google Maps API & multiple JavaScript plugins to manipulate the DOM
  • Show meaningful validation to users if they have passed or failed using JavaScript & jQuery
